We are ready to welcome a new Accountant to our Finance team in Helsinki. In this role, you will take ownership of daily accounting operations and end-to-end accounting of selected group entities, while contributing to the development and automation of our finance processes.

UpCloud operates through five global entities, with ~€35m ARR and 30% annual revenue growth, backed by stable funding. You will report to the Group Accountant and work closely with the finance team of 6 based in Helsinki city centre.

Though accounting can be hectic at times, we understand that the most skilled experts only perform at their best when their free time is respected, and they are given an organized environment with clear targets.

In this job, you will:

• Manage daily accounting operations, including invoice processing and bank statement reconciliation.

• Handle accounts payable, payments, and employee expense claims.

• Take end-to-end ownership of bookkeeping for selected group entities.

• Prepare VAT and GST reporting (Finland and international entities).

• Participate in monthly closing and group consolidation.

• Collaborate with outsourced service providers to ensure accurate tax reporting and audit progress.

• Support the development and automation of accounting processes and financial controls.

• Handle administrative tasks such as bank documentation and statutory filings related to tax registrations & PE filings.

To succeed, you’ll need:

• 3+ years of relevant accounting experience

• Solid understanding of Finnish Accounting Standards

• Understanding of Finnish and international tax and statutory reporting requirements

• Hands-on, proactive mindset with the ability to take ownership and the will to reciprocally help out your colleagues when needed

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

• Interest in developing and automating accounting processes

• Professional working proficiency in English

We also appreciate (read: not a must, but great to have):

• Relevant degree in accounting or finance

• Experience with NetSuite ERP

• Previous experience in scale-up companies (especially SaaS/tech)

• Experience working in an international business setting

The pay range for this role is around 3500-4000 euros per month, depending on your seniority. The range is not set in stone, as we assess each case individually.
